PRESS RELEASE - FEBRUARY 2018:

DON’T SEND AN EMAIL, SEND A HEARTBEAT

Over the past few weeks, millions of heartbeats have been exchanged by people all over the world. A new product, Pillow Talk, makes it possible for you to feel another person's heartbeat in realtime, even if they’re on the other side of the world.

Pillow Talk transmits the sound of one person’s heartbeat to another using two beautifully-designed wristbands and speakers.

The wristband picks up the user’s heartbeat and sends it to a receiver in their loved one’s pillow. The device then mimics the sound and pace of the heartbeat, producing a soothing rhythm that provides a far more intimate connection than just messages or calls.

From letting parents feel close to their newborns to enabling military personnel to feel connected to their spouses when deployed, Pillow Talk is already connecting families all around the world. The company is also launching a pilot within several children’s hospitals.

Joanna, originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, has been working in connected technologies for 7 years and developed the product, Pillow Talk, following a frustration around the way we use technology to stay in touch with each other.

“I wanted to make technology more human.” Joanna says. “We’re so connected through our screens that we’re becoming really disconnected with each other as human beings.”

Joanna started the company, Little Riot, with the aim of making products that enable a feeling of presence; technology that is part of your life instead of interrupting it. Pillow Talk is the first in a series of products that will transform how we use technology to feel close to those we love.

Pillow Talk shipped three weeks ago to the thousands of people who pre-ordered the product over the past two years.
