We’re still here. And our work matters more than ever.
A lot has changed since I first started Little Riot.
When we began experimenting with Pillow Talk, the idea of using technology to create a sense of physical connection between people felt unusual. Technology was becoming increasingly good at helping us communicate - but we were interested in something different.
Could it help us feel closer?
More than a decade later, that question feels more important than ever.
We're entering an era in which technology can talk to us, write for us, create for us and increasingly understand us. AI is becoming extraordinarily good at imitating the ways humans communicate.
We think that makes the things it can't replicate even more important.
The unconscious rhythm of another person's heartbeat. Touch. Presence. Knowing that something you're experiencing is coming from a real human being, somewhere else in the world.
Little Riot has always been interested in the space between technology and human connection - not using technology to replace people, but using it to help people feel more connected to each other.
And lately, I've been thinking about that a lot.
We've been revisiting old ideas. Asking new questions. Talking to some very interesting people. And exploring where the thinking behind Little Riot might go next.
We hope to be able to share more with you soon.
Know that the mission is still very much alive.
And in a world increasingly filled with artificial intelligence, we think there is something worth fighting for in real human connection.
More soon. Maybe.
